SUMMARY:Essay Essentials Bootcamp
DESCRIPTION:This three-day boot camp is designed to give current grade 10\, 11\,\nand 12 students a solid understanding of English grammar\,\nwriting conventions\, and essay basics\, so they can approach\nessay writing with the knowledge and skills necessary for\nsuccess. Students will learn the essentials to writing expert\nargumentative essays\, the most common essay genre they will\nwrite in high school. Materials will be provided. \n  \nThis course will cover: \n\nUsage of evidence\nMLA citations\nTargeted editing\nActive reading\nEssay planning\nThesis construction\n\n  \nThe session will be interactive and dynamic. Students will leave with a clearer\nunderstanding of essay writing basics and how to apply those skills. \n*Students are asked to bring a laptop if they prefer to type their essays.
